What can we expect in HRM in another fifty years?


AI & Automation-Driven HR

AI will handle most of the repititive basic HRM functions such as payroll, performance tracking and compliance. Chatbots and virtual assistants will do a superb job in dealing with the matters of the employees. Also,selection and recruitment will be done with the support of AI in future.


Hyper-Personalized Employee Experience

AI-driven learning platforms will play a vital role in developing employees. The employee well-being programmes will be highly developed, and personalized through AI tools.The realtime feedback will be provided by the AI tools when carrying out performance evaluations and it will improve the motivation of the employees.


Remote & Global Workforce Management

The workforce will be more decentralized.The employees will start working from different places all over the world. Organizations will not be limited to a group of employees who live in a specific area. Companies will start hiring employees from all over the world.


Human-AI Collaboration

The AI will augment its decision-making and most of the companies will start relying on AI instead of looking for HR professionals. It will be easy for the employees and HR managers to adopt with the collaboration of AI.


The Rise of the Metaverse in HR.

The companies will get the ability to hire,onboard and conduct training sessions in virtualoffice places instead of actual office premises. There will be some fully virtual organizations that are specified in some of the industries that use 100% virtual environment for their operations. Employees will be interested in dealing with colleagues in the metaverse. There will be colleagues from all over the world.


The Skill Evolution

With the impact of AI, the skills of the employees will improve along with the interactions of AI. Knowledge, facts, observations, plans, and other important aspects will be easily caught up by employees with the support of AI. Hence, the skill improvement rate of the employees will be highly increased.






THE EVOLUTION OF THE HRM IS A VERY INTERESTING STORY. FROM THE POINT WHERE THE CONCEPT OF HRM WAS NOT HIGHLY CONSIDERED IN ORGANIZATIONS UP TO THE PRESENT MODERNIZED HRM ERA, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY DEVELOPMENTS AND EXPANSIONS IN THE HR INDUSTRY.

SO, IN ANOTHER FIFTY YEARS PERIOD OF TIME, THE EVOLUTION OF HRM WILL BE MAINLY HANDLED BY THE AI AND THE DIGITALIZATION.

IF THE HUMAN-AI COLLABORATION IS STRATEGICALLY OBSERVED AND INVOLVED, IT WILL SUPPORT BRINGING SUCCESS TO ANY ORGANIZATION.

  4. In the next fifty years, Human Resource Management (HRM) will be highly influenced by advanced technology like AI, automation, and data analytics. Routine HR tasks such as hiring, training, and tracking performance will mostly be handled by smart systems (Cappelli, 2019). However, human skills like empathy, leadership, and ethics will still be very important.
    Workplaces will be more digital, global, and flexible, with people working from different places and alongside AI tools. HR will focus more on helping people grow, supporting continuous learning through personalized online training (Siemens, 2005), and making sure employee data is used safely and fairly (West et al., 2019).
    In short, HR will become less about paperwork and more about helping people and technology work well together for a better future.
